MSD Opens Technology Centre in Hyderabad to Expand Global Digital Capabilities

The state is also developing a 2,100-acre life sciences zone under Bharat Future City, including a 100-acre specialised hub for advanced biologics.

MSD has inaugurated a 2.5 lakh sq. ft Technology Centre in Hyderabad, expanding its global technology network and bringing together capabilities in digital, data, analytics, artificial intelligence, engineering and technology.

Located in Hitech City, the new Technology Centre was inaugurated by D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana's Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs. MSD's Abhishek Narayan Singh, Senior Vice President, Digital Human Health, Ritesh Srivastava, Executive Director, and other government and industry representatives were also present.

The new MSD Technology Centre comes as Hyderabad continues to attract global life sciences and healthcare companies beyond its established pharmaceutical and manufacturing base.

Telangana's ecosystem now includes more than 2,000 companies operating across areas such as APIs, bulk drugs, generics, CDMO, vaccines, research and discovery.

According to the Telangana government, companies including Amgen, Eli Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb, Sanofi, Align Technology, and Zoetis have established or expanded operations in the state over the past two years, contributing to its growing technology, innovation, and R&D ecosystem.

D. Sridhar Babu said, “Telangana has built a truly end-to-end life sciences ecosystem, with more than 2,000 companies spanning APIs, bulk drugs, generics, CDMO, vaccines, research and discovery. Hyderabad has emerged as a global leader in vaccines and is home to one of the largest concentrations of USFDA-approved facilities outside the United States. Over the last two years, we have been deliberate about taking this ecosystem from manufacturing scale to the next generation of discovery, innovation, advanced R&D and global capability creation.”

The minister added that Telangana's Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026-30 aims to connect the value chain across discovery, manufacturing, clinical research and technology.

MSD said the Hyderabad Technology Centre will allow teams to collaborate with colleagues globally and develop scalable enterprise technology solutions supporting its operations and healthcare mission.
