AHH Launches Super-Specialty Hospital in Bhubaneswar as Part of INR 100 Cr Odisha Expansion

The company aims to close the current financial year with a network of 10 hospitals as part of the expansion of its Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) network.

Asia Healthcare Holdings (AHH) has committed INR 100 crore towards its expansion in Odisha with the launch of a super-specialty uro-nephrology hospital in Bhubaneswar. The company aims to close the current financial year with a network of 10 hospitals as part of the expansion of its Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) network.

The Bhubaneswar hospital marks AINU's eighth facility in India, following its presence in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Siliguri and Chennai. The new facility will extend specialized kidney and urology services to patients across Odisha and neighboring regions.

According to AHH, the expansion comes against the backdrop of a growing kidney disease burden in India. Citing the ICMR-INDIAB study published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research, the company said impaired kidney function was identified in 3.2% of the nationally representative study population of 25,408 adults, with Odisha among the states reporting a prevalence of 6% or higher.

The new hospital will offer services across nephrology, urology, uro-oncology, kidney transplantation, dialysis, pediatric urology, andrology and reconstructive urology.

Its infrastructure includes a 12-station hemodialysis unit, three dedicated operation theaters, a 100W Holmium laser, a 45W Thulium Fibre Laser, 3D laparoscopy, Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS), Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL), an in-house 32-slice CT scanner and video urodynamics.

A urological robotic surgery platform is also scheduled to be launched at the hospital soon.
