Telangana Set to Become Global Life Sciences & Innovation Hub, Says IT Minister Sridhar Babu

Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has outlined the state’s vision to transform Telangana into a global life science innovation hub.
Recently, the Minister inaugurated India’s first integrated oncology manufacturing facility, established by Ciro Pharma with an investment of INR 800 crore at Biotech Park Phase-III in Karakapatla, Markook Mandal, Siddipet district.
While speaking at the launch, Minister Babu outlined the vision of transforming the state into a world-class life sciences innovation hub by leveraging the rapid advancements taking place in the healthcare sector.
Highlighting the government’s strategy, the IT Minister stated that the government is building a comprehensive ecosystem by integrating research, technology, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced manufacturing, and skill development to address future healthcare challenges.
According to the Minister, the latest oncology facility is intended to further strengthen Telangana's position as a global hub for life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
In addition, Minister Babu announced that the government has prepared a special action plan to develop the Zaheerabad National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) into a model manufacturing zone.
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting Green Pharma in Telangana.
Further, he noted the Telangana Rising‑2047 vision and the Next Generation Life Sciences Policy seek to create an integrated ecosystem linking every stage of the value chain, from research to manufacturing.
He added that the government is focusing on advanced segments such as biologics, biosimilars, cell and gene therapies, AI, and digital health as part of its growth strategy.
