Medanta Approves INR 997 Cr Investment for 500-Bed Ghaziabad Hospital

The project is part of Medanta's broader expansion pipeline, which is expected to add more than 3,450 beds across six greenfield hospitals over the next few years.

Global Health Limited, which operates the leading hospital chain, Medanta, has approved an INR 997 crore investment to develop a 500-bed multi-specialty hospital in Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, to expand its presence in the Delhi-NCR market.

The proposed hospital is intended to provide tertiary and quaternary healthcare services to patients in Ghaziabad and surrounding catchment areas.

As per reports, the project is part of Medanta's broader expansion pipeline, which is expected to add more than 3,450 beds across six greenfield hospitals over the next few years.

The proposed hospital will be developed on a 2.61-acre land parcel allotted to Medanta by the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board through an e-auction in September 2026 for INR 165.82 crore.

Following the land allotment, the company's board approved the project, as per its regulatory filings.

According to the hospital, the approved 500 beds are higher than the initially assessed capacity of 350 beds.

The company plans to add the capacity in phases over the next three to four years.

Further, the healthcare group intends to fund the INR 165.82 crore land purchase through internal accruals, while the total project investment of INR 997 crore will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt.

Currently, it operates a network of 3,811 beds across six cities, including Gurugram, Indore, Ranchi, Lucknow, Patna, and Noida.

The recent developments build on Medanta Group's broader expansion strategy, which is backed by a planned capital expenditure of INR 4,500 crore and a pipeline of new hospitals across key Indian cities, according to Group CEO Pankaj Sahni.
