Medanta to Acquire 80-Bed Cancer Hospital in Indore for INR 30 Cr
The hospital is located approximately 500 meters from Medanta’s existing 175-bed multi-specialty facility in Indore.
Global Health Limited (Medanta) on April 27 announced plans to acquire an 80-bed cancer hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, under a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA), marking an expansion of its specialty care footprint in Central India.
The hospital is located approximately 500 meters from Medanta’s existing 175-bed multi-specialty facility in Indore. The proximity is expected to support integrated operations and enable the rollout of a dedicated oncology program in the city.
Under the agreement, Asian Institute of Oncology Private Limited (AIOPL) will transfer its Indore business undertaking to Medanta as a going concern. The transaction includes the assignment of a long-term lease and is valued at INR 30 crore.
The newly built cancer care facility is expected to add oncology as a specialized service offering at Medanta’s Indore campus, where such services were previously not available. The integration of the two facilities is projected to support improved patient flow, optimize infrastructure utilization, and expand treatment capacity.
Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO, Medanta, said, “The takeover of the 80-bedded cancer hospital in Indore is an extension of Medanta's existing hospital in the city. With state-of-the-art oncology infrastructure, this facility enables us to add comprehensive cancer care, a previously missing specialty, while further expanding our existing range of services.”
He added that the facility would complement the current hospital operations and improve patient access to specialized care.
Medanta currently operates across multiple locations in North and East India, offering tertiary and quaternary care services. The Indore expansion marks a step toward strengthening its regional presence and specialty portfolio.
