Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has flagged off 13 mobile medical units for deployment across the state's hill districts, a move aimed at expanding healthcare access in remote and underserved areas through doorstep medical services, diagnostics and preventive care.

The initiative is expected to improve last-mile healthcare delivery while supporting the state's broader efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility through improved infrastructure, efficient manpower and advanced medical technology.

Flagging off the vehicles at the Directorate of Health Services in Lamphel, Imphal, the Manipur CM reiterated the government's commitment to delivering quality healthcare services across both the Imphal Valley and the hill districts.

Emphasising the importance of equitable healthcare access, he highlighted the role of modern infrastructure and advanced medical technology in strengthening the state's health system.

"These 13 Mobile Medical Units will strengthen healthcare delivery in the underserved and remote hill districts, ensuring that quality medical services reach every citizen at their doorstep. This initiative reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to improving public health, enhancing healthcare accessibility, and building a healthier, stronger and disease-free Manipur," he stated.

The newly deployed units have been launched under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA), two programmes focused on improving the welfare and development of tribal and vulnerable populations.

Through these schemes, healthcare services are being extended to areas where access to regular medical facilities remains limited.
