Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched the Sanjeevani pilot project at Aluru in Kurnool district, further announcing that the flagship healthcare initiative will be rolled out across Andhra Pradesh from August

Sanjeevani, a digital health records initiative aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery through technology-enabled services.

According to the state government, the programme is intended to support predictive, preventive and curative healthcare while creating personal digital health records for citizens.

Addressing a public meeting here after launching the pilot project of ‘Sanjeevani’, the CM Naidu said, “We are working with the goal of achieving a healthy Andhra Pradesh and ‘Sanjeevani’ follows predictive, preventive and curative means for protecting public health.”

According to the CM, data from Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to the state level will be synced, and every person's health profile will be recorded through 'Sanjeevani'.

He noted that the 'Sanjeevani' project was taken up to create people's personal health records and thereby offer health protection, and that up to 80 lakh people in the state are battling severe illnesses.

As part of the programme, health experts will offer services on medicines and nutrition through tele-consultations and promised to launch a "Health X' app.

In addition, services related to non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, paediatric health screenings, ‘108’ emergency services, ‘104’ mobile medical units, e-Aushadhi, and laboratory services would all be integrated into the system.

According to the CM, AI-based medical assistance, telemedicine, remote care, predictive analytics, and digital nerve centres would be incorporated to meet future needs.

“Through the Sanjeevani Citizen Wellness App, people can book doctor appointments and access their health records at any time,” Naidu further added.

The launch of the pilot project follows the Andhra Pradesh government's earlier announcement of the statewide rollout of Sanjeevani, with the initiative expected to be expanded in phases after the pilot implementation.
