IHFC & AMTZ Sign MoU to Advance Medical Robotics Innovation in India

The partnership brings together Technology Innovation Hub’s (IHFC) expertise in artificial intelligence, robotics, cyber-physical systems and autonomous technologies with AMTZ’s integrated MedTech manufacturing and innovation ecosystem.
The Technology Innovation Hub Foundation for IoT and IoE (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Delhi, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) to advance the development of medical robotics and intelligent healthcare technologies.
The partnership aims to strengthen indigenous innovation by combining expertise in advanced technologies with medical device manufacturing capabilities.
The MoU was signed by Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, representing IHFC, and Dr Jitendra Kumar, representing AMTZ, in the presence of Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
The partnership is expected to support the development of advanced medical devices and robotic healthcare solutions while encouraging collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers and industry stakeholders

By integrating advanced research with large-scale manufacturing capabilities, the collaboration aims to accelerate the development, testing and translation of next-generation medical robotic solutions into real-world healthcare applications.
“India has the talent to lead the world in medical robotics. What we need is an ecosystem that transforms ideas into life-saving technologies. At AMTZ, we are building that ecosystem by bringing together innovation, manufacturing and entrepreneurship,” said AMTZ MD, Jitendra Sharma.
The agreement also seeks to support collaborative research and development, facilitate technology validation and support deep-tech startups working in medical robotics and related healthcare technologies.
The organisations said the initiative is intended to strengthen India's indigenous MedTech innovation ecosystem and encourage the commercialisation of advanced healthcare technologies.
AMTZ already supports more than 100 health-tech startups working on everything from AI diagnostics to digital health tools.
“This collaboration is another step towards AMTZ’s larger mission of building a future where every breakthrough in healthcare reaches the people who need it most. By bringing together innovation, research, and manufacturing, we are creating technologies that have the power to save lives and transform healthcare,” Sharma added.
