Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Kerala, and Tata Elxsi, a global design and technology services company headquartered in Bangalore, have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate healthcare innovation and medical technology development.
The initiative is expected to provide Tata Elxsi, its customers, and healthcare partners with access to clinicians, specialist researchers, advanced laboratories, prototyping facilities, and product engineering capabilities within a unified ecosystem.
Sreevatsa Sahasranaman, Senior Vice President and Head, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Tata Elxsi, said, “Healthcare innovation increasingly depends on closer collaboration between clinicians, scientists, and engineering teams. By integrating clinical knowledge with engineering and design expertise, the organizations aim to enable MedTech companies to develop, validate, and scale innovative products more efficiently.
The collaboration will also strengthen capabilities in areas such as biocompatibility testing and toxicology, which are essential for the safe development of medical technologies.
The MoU further establishes a framework for joint research, academic collaboration, technology development initiatives, and intellectual property creation through project-specific engagements.
