KIMS to Set Up 700-Bed Superspecialty Hospital in Bengaluru in a Major Expansion Plan

According to the hospital’s expansion outline, the Bengaluru project, KIMS PES, will include a new 361-bed facility scheduled to commence operations soon.

The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has announced plans to establish a new 700-bed hospital in Bengaluru.

The proposed facility is aimed at strengthening KIMS’s presence in Karnataka and enhancing access to advanced tertiary care services.

The move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen KIMS’s presence in tier-2 cities across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while enhancing overall bed capacity and specialty offerings.

Expansion Plan

According to the hospital’s expansion outline, the Bengaluru project, KIMS PES, will include a new 361-bed facility scheduled to commence operations soon.

Alongside this, KIMS is also undertaking several other capacity-building initiatives across its network.

In addition, KIMS is undertaking several capacity-building initiatives across its network, including a 50-bed expansion in Ongole with a new Cancer Centre, a 250-bed expansion in Anantapur featuring a Cancer Centre and Mother & Child facilities, a 550-bed expansion of the Kondapur facility in Hyderabad, and a new 350-bed hospital in Rajahmundry.

Currently, the hospital is focusing on several strategic initiatives to drive growth, including expanding tertiary care with advanced specialties such as paediatric cardiac surgery, ECMO, and liver transplants; investing in cutting-edge technologies like robotic surgery systems and advanced imaging; and strengthening its talent pool by onboarding senior specialists across high-revenue departments.

Further, the hospital is reportedly pursuing geographic expansion through greenfield projects and partnerships while diversifying services to include transplant programs, cancer care, and mother & child specialties.
