Jubilant Biosys Expands Clinical Research Capacity with New Noida Facility
Spanning around 20,000 square feet of R&D space, the site houses 15 reactors with capacities ranging from 20 litres to 250 litres.
Jubilant Biosys has opened a new discovery and preclinical multimillion-dollar facility in Noida, doubling its overall chemistry capacity and strengthening its ability to support integrated clinical research.
The company has designed the new site to support discovery research and early-phase scale-up in an integrated setting, responding to rising demand from innovators seeking lower-risk, fee-for-service clinical research models.
“We have grown rapidly over the past year, well above the wider market, by expanding our FFS offerings, which enable innovators to advance discovery projects with lower risk. With improving funding conditions, we anticipate even higher demand next year, and this new facility doubles our existing capabilities. From a client perspective, we can now provide faster discovery delivery and integrated scale-up, with projects seamlessly transferred to our GMP facilities ready for any IND filing and commercial phases,” said Giuliano Perfetti, CEO, Jubilant Biosys Limited.
The expansion comes at a time when pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are increasingly outsourcing clinical research and chemistry-intensive work to specialized partners.
Jubilant Biosys operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Jubilant Pharmova and delivers services across five sites in India and Europe. Over the years, the company has built capabilities across discovery chemistry, preclinical development, and scale-up, aligning with global trends toward faster, more cost-efficient clinical research and development.
The newly inaugurated Noida campus brings together discovery laboratories and two pilot plants on a single site, creating a unified pathway from early discovery to scale-up.
According to the company, the facility has been designed to handle material quantities ranging from a few hundred grams to as much as 25 kilograms, supporting the transition of molecules from bench-scale research to more advanced development stages relevant for clinical research programs.
Spanning around 20,000 square feet of R&D space, the site houses 15 reactors with capacities ranging from 20 litres to 250 litres. The campus also includes capabilities such as route scouting, salt screening, polymorph evaluation, and seamless technology transfer to pilot-scale operations.
The Noida facility complements Jubilant Biosys’ existing Chemistry Research Innovation Centre in Greater Noida. The new site has already onboarded several clients and includes multiple manufacturing lines to accommodate diverse project requirements.
