India Unveils e-Sushrut@Clinic Platform to Support Digitization of Small Clinics
By offering a government-backed digital tool at no cost, the initiative is expected to support wider adoption of digital health practices among smaller healthcare facilities and India’s primary care network.
The Government of India has introduced the e-Sushrut@Clinic, a free digital platform intended to support the digital transformation of small amd midsized clinics across the nation.
The initiative was developed under the Ayushman Bharat Mission (ABDM)and rolled out by the National Health Authority (NHA) in collaboration with the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).
The platform is designed to digitize patient records, manage appointments, and facilitate seamless out-patient workflows while enabling integration with broader health infrastructure.
The platform is further expected to improve continuity of care by enabling clinics to create and operate interoperable health records across hospitals, diagnostic service providers, and clinics linked to ABDM.
Further, the platform is accessible through a standard web browser and seeks to reduce the need for significant upfront investment in software or hardware.
By offering a government-backed digital tool at no cost, the initiative is expected to support wider adoption of digital health practices among smaller healthcare facilities and India’s primary care network.
In addition to clinical workflow management, the platform includes additional features such as dashboards and administrative tools to support efficient clinic operations and data-driven decision-making.
The initiative is also intended to contribute to improved health data aggregation to inform policy planning.
The launch forms a part of India’s ongoing effort to expand digital healthcare adoption and strengthen interoperability across providers.
The initiative is built on an earlier MoU signed by the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to roll out e-Sushrut@Clinic.
