India, Sweden Focus on AMR, Digital Health & Telemedicine at Bilateral Meeting

Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda has held a bilateral meeting with Sweden’s Minister for Health and Social Affairs, Jakob Forssmed, in Geneva, Switzerland, on the sidelines of WHA79, further strengthening healthcare cooperation between India and Sweden.
During the meeting, both ministers highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit in strengthening bilateral relations and advancing collaboration across multiple sectors.
The discussions focused on cooperation in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), digital health initiatives including telemedicine, and strengthening resilient healthcare supply chains.
The meeting reflected continued engagement between the two countries in areas related to healthcare systems, digital health, and public health collaboration.
Recently, India and the Netherlands signed agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation focused on healthcare, pharma, and medtech.
The agreement was signed during the recent meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetten in The Hague.
The latest development forms part of the broader “Roadmap of India-Netherlands Strategic Partnership” adopted by both countries to enhance bilateral cooperation over the next 5 years through focused, time-bound initiatives and joint plans of action.
