IIT Patna Incubation Centre & NSMCH Sign MoU to Advance Healthcare Innovation & Research
Both institutions will explore joint opportunities focusing areas including biomedical devices, diagnostic and testing technologies, healthcare software, and digital health solutions.
The Incubation Centre at IIT Patna (IC IIT Patna) has signed an MoU with Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital (NSMCH), Amhara, Bihta, aimed at advancing biomedical research and the development of healthcare technologies.
The collaboration brings together the innovation and startup ecosystem of IC IIT Patna with NSMCH’s clinical infrastructure, healthcare expertise, research capabilities, and clinical ecosystem.
The partnership is intended to support the development and evaluation of new healthcare solutions and facilitate the translation of research and prototypes into practical applications.
Under the agreement, both institutions will explore joint opportunities in education, research, and innovation, with focus areas including biomedical devices, diagnostic and testing technologies, healthcare software, and digital health solutions.
The partnership will also cover product innovation and development, including the development of software, hardware, and other research deliverables.
In addition, both institutions will explore avenues for supporting the commercialization and market scaling of healthcare technologies emerging from the collaborative ecosystem.
By integrating the technical expertise of IIT Patna with the clinical capabilities of NSMCH, the initiative is expected to support researchers and innovators in understanding the practical needs of hospitals, clinicians, and patients, while providing a pathway for research and prototypes to transform into real-world applications.
The latest collaboration forms a part of IIT Patna’s ongoing research and technology-led healthcare innovation initiatives.
In an earlier development, researchers at IIT Patna developed an AI-based wearable device designed to detect early signs of Dementia in elderly individuals.
The wearable system is intended to support early diagnosis by continuously monitoring physiological and behavioural indicators associated with cognitive decline.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Professor-in-Charge, Incubation Centre, IIT Patna, Dr. (Prof.) P. K. Tiwari, and Dr. Swarnima Singh, Member Secretary, Clinical Research Ethics Committee and Sub Dean (A&R), NSMCH, Patna
