Healthtech Startup 4baseCare & Caritas Hospitals Join Hands to Expand Personalized Cancer Care in Kerala

The move is aimed at enhancing access to genomic testing and targeted therapies, and building stronger connections between clinical research and clinical practice

Caritas Hospitals, leading multispeciality hospitals in Kottayam, has partnered with precision oncology startup 4baseCare.

The collaboration seeks to advance personalized cancer care in Kottayam and nearby regions of Kerala.

Under the agreement, doctors will use 4base’s genetic testing tools to gain deeper insights into the biological profile of individual patients’ cancers, which is expected to enable more targeted and effective treatments with fewer adverse side effects.

The move is further aimed at enhancing access to genomic testing and targeted therapies, and building stronger connections between clinical research and clinical practice.

Commenting on the new partnership, Rev Dr Binu Kunnath, Director & CEO, Caritas Hospital, said, “This partnership with 4baseCare strengthens our ability to offer patients truly personalized cancer care, guided by science, driven by data, and delivered with empathy. “

“By integrating advanced genomics into everyday clinical practice, we are not only improving treatment precision but also expanding access to modern cancer care for patients across the region,” he further added.

Founded by Hitesh Goswami, 4baseCare focuses on building population-relevant clinico-genomic datasets to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment outcomes in underrepresented populations.

Recently, the startup has raised INR 90 crore ($9.8 million) in the first close of its Series B funding round, co-led by investors Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi, with participation from existing backer Yali Capital. The new capital infusion is aimed at expanding 4baseCare’s hospital-linked genomics lab network across India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Central Asia.

Sharing his thoughts, Hitesh Goswami, CEO and Co-Founder, 4baseCare, said, “The launch of advanced genomics and precision oncology capabilities at Caritas Hospitals represents yet another step forward in strengthening patient-centric cancer care in India. By bringing cutting-edge genomic technologies to clinical practice, this collaboration moves us closer to a future where every cancer patient can receive treatment that is timely, targeted, and tailored to their individual disease biology.”
