Healthium Medtech Inks MoU with Andhra Govt to Set Up INR 150 Cr Industrial Park
The new unit is expected to boost the company’s production capacity across its surgical, post-surgical, and chronic-care product lines.
Bengaluru-based Healthium Medtech, one of India’s leading medtech companies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to set up a second manufacturing facility in Sri City Industrial Park, Andhra Pradesh.
Under the MoU, Healthium will establish Healthium Medtech Unit 2 on a 5-acre site within the Sri City Industrial Park, with a planned INR 150 crore investment to be executed in two phases.
The new unit is expected to boost the company’s production capacity across its surgical, post-surgical, and chronic-care product lines.
Currently, the company already operates a manufacturing facility in Sri City, and with this new unit, it aims to strengthen its presence in the region.
Commenting on the collaboration, Anish Bafna, CEO and Managing Director, Healthium Medtech, said, “With our increasing footprint and the requirement for a stronger manufacturing base, the decision to establish this new unit in Sri City is driven by the rising need for resilient, high-quality manufacturing in the medtech space.”
“This expansion is aligned with Healthium’s vision to deliver accessible, high-quality and ‘Made in India’ medical devices to patients across the world. The industrial readiness, connectivity and skilled labour pool in the region give us a strong foundation to scale production and allow better integration with suppliers and ancillary services,” he added.
Also, the project is expected to generate 300 direct jobs, including payroll and contract positions, by 2027, along with around 100 indirect jobs created through ancillary, logistics, and supply-chain operations.
Sharing his thoughts on the new partnership, CM Saikanth Varma, IAS, CEO, APEDB, said, “This project reinforces Sri City’s position as a preferred destination for advanced medical device manufacturing. It contributes to building a deeper industrial ecosystem, encouraging supply chains and ancillary units essential for long-term competitiveness. The collaboration aligns with our vision of a future-ready manufacturing corridor that delivers stable employment and technology depth.”
