GIMS Partners with MGUG & MPIT to Expand AI Healthcare Innovation in Purvanchal

The collaboration will combine GIMS’s clinical expertise with the academic leadership of MGUG and advanced technology infrastructure from MPIT's Center of Excellence.

The Center for Medical Innovation (CMI), GIMS Foundation at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahayogi Gorakhnath University and the Centers of Excellence at Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology.

The partnership aims to expand AI-based healthcare solutions and support the development of healthtech startups in Gorakhpur and the wider Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.

The collaboration will combine GIMS’s clinical expertise with the academic leadership of MGUG and advanced technology infrastructure from MPIT's Centres of Excellence.

The MPIT’S Center of Excellence is equipped with advanced computing AI infrastructure powered by NVIDIA GPUs.The AI infrastructure is designed to support the training of AI models, the validation of healthcare algorithms, and the deployment of AI-driven healthcare solutions.

The facility is expected to accelerate the development of AI tools for diagnostics, treatment planning, and healthcare management.

As part of the agreement, the GIMS AI Startup Clinic initiative will extend its operations to Gorakhpur, intended to create new collaborative platforms and opportunities for AI startups, clinicians, researchers, and technology innovators for developing healthcare solutions to address pressing healthcare challenges.

The initiative is intended to strengthen regional research capabilities and startup ecosystems in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, the Director of GIMS, Brig (Dr.) Rakesh Gupta stated that the partnership represents a major step toward integrating medicine, technology, and innovation to address real-world healthcare challenges.

He further added that the GIMS AI Startup Clinic aims to empower innovators and startups by providing them with the resources and collaborative ecosystem needed to develop impactful healthcare solutions.

The new partnership is designed to promote startup incubation programs, joint research projects, technology development, student-led innovation initiatives, and hackathons.

By encouraging collaboration between medical professionals, academic institutions, and technology experts, the program aims to build a strong, technology-driven healthcare innovation ecosystem in Purvanchal.

The partnership was formalized at Mahayogi Gorakhnath University in Gorakhpur in the presence of several key academic and institutional leaders, including Dr. Surendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of MGUG; Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rao, Registrar of MGUG; Dr. Sudhir Agarwal, Director of MPIT; and Dr. Rahul, Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Medical Innovation, GIMS Foundation.
