GIMS Launches Mobile Cancer-Screening Unit to Expand Diagnostic Reach
The mobile unit is designed to enable GIMS to offer comprehensive breast and cervical cancer screening services outside its campus.
Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has unveiled a fully equipped donated mobile cancer-screening unit.
The unit was donated by Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
This initiative aims to bring critical cancer screening services to underprivileged communities across North India, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and the NCR region.
In addition, this mobile facility is expected to significantly enhance GIMS’ preventive healthcare outreach efforts.
Commenting on the initiative, GIMS Director Brig. Dr. Rakesh Gupta expressed deep gratitude, emphasising that the new facility will “greatly strengthen the institute’s outreach programs” and allow for better service delivery to underserved communities.

It features advanced diagnostic equipment, including X-ray systems, a mammography machine, a colposcopy unit, laboratory testing facilities, dedicated cancer-clinic couches, a mobile office, and essential consumables for cervical cancer screening.
Talking about the initiative, Atsushi Nagashima, Corporate Director, Yamaha Motor India, said, “At India Yamaha Motor, we believe that health and well-being are fundamental to building stronger communities. Through this Mobile Cancer Screening Unit, we aim to bridge the gap in access to preventive healthcare and empower individuals with timely diagnosis.
