Patients will benefit from streamlined services such as digital registration, appointment booking, billing, diagnostics, and ward management.
Health Minister Pankaj Singh announced on Thursday that the Delhi government will implement a unified health management information system (HMIS) across all state-run hospitals, a major step towards digital transformation in public healthcare.
The initiative aims to integrate healthcare services under one digital umbrella, improving real-time data access, transparency, and healthcare delivery.
A centralized healthcare control room equipped with a dynamic dashboard will be established to monitor hospital operations, including bed availability, medicine inventory, diagnostic trends, and resource utilization.
The dashboard will generate actionable insights and send alerts to aid efficient decision-making and governance.
The proposed HMIS will bring all health facilities—ranging from primary health centers to super-specialty hospitals—onto a single digital platform.
“We are working towards a single digital health platform where real-time data from all hospitals can be accessed through one unified dashboard,” said Health Minister Pankaj Singh.
The system will empower healthcare professionals with better clinical insights while ensuring seamless access to care for citizens.
Patients will benefit from streamlined services such as digital registration, appointment booking, billing, diagnostics, and ward management.
Integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the HMIS will enable patients to retrieve prescriptions, lab reports, and discharge summaries through mobile apps and WhatsApp.
Additionally, consent-based digital sharing of health records using ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) IDs will uphold data privacy and interoperability.
Innovative features such as voice-to-text transcription for prescriptions, performance analytics for healthcare providers, and data tracking of medicine usage and diagnostic loads will further boost system efficiency and accountability.
Minister Singh recently inspected the Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital and committed to upgrading facilities and restoring the institution’s former standing.
He also chaired a review meeting with officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), and the Department of Health to finalize the HMIS rollout strategy and accompanying digital infrastructure.
“Our goal is to deliver better treatment and facilities to every citizen in Delhi through technology-driven governance,” Singh said.
