The service includes faster OPD registration through ABHA's QR code 'scan and share' feature. With just a quick scan, patients can seamlessly share their profiles with medical facilities, enhancing efficiency in over 18,000 health facilities across every state and Union Territory.
In a promising move for the healthcare landscape, fifteen dynamic healthtech companies have teamed up with the government's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to revolutionize patient access to health records and services.
This collaboration aims to alleviate the frustration of long hospital queues, making healthcare more accessible than ever.
Notable players such as Driefcase, Aarogya One, Bajaj Health, Practo, and Ambula Technologies are stepping up to the challenge.
"Some of the private PHR applications companies are also providing assistance, by way of manpower support, to assist the patients in registering using the ABHA-based QR registration services," the NHA said in a communication to the Mission Directors in the States/UTs.

This initiative is designed to tackle the serious issues associated with lengthy registration processes. By minimizing the chances of medical errors and ensuring a smooth continuity of treatment, the program does away with the hassle of hard prescription copies.
Moreover, it empowers patients by giving them control over their health information, allowing them to easily manage and share their data with doctors whenever they choose.
To keep the momentum going, the National Health Authority (NHA) is urging states and UTs to actively promote the use of these groundbreaking applications. With three core components—Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), a digital health ID for everyone, and a Health Facility Registry (HFR)—ABDM is well-equipped to make a significant impact.
The push for digital health is further fueled by the government's Digital India initiative, which has opened new doors for the sector. As internet access expands across the country, the ABDM, launched in September 2021, is set to bridge the gap in healthcare access, paving the way for a future where equitable, inclusive, affordable, and timely medical services are within everyone's reach.
