Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh has inaugurated a Robotic Orthopaedic System and a maternity operation theatre at Cantonment General Hospital in Delhi Cantt, marking a significant step toward strengthening technology-enabled healthcare services.
Speaking at the inauguration, Singh highlighted the importance of upgrading healthcare infrastructure in cantonments and reiterated the government’s commitment to high-quality medical services.
The Director General, Defence Estates, Shobha Gupta, noted that such initiatives will strengthen healthcare delivery systems and contribute to community welfare.

In addition, the newly inaugurated maternity operation theatre has been designed to provide safe and comprehensive surgical care for expectant mothers.
Planned upgrades at the hospital further indicate a phased expansion strategy. Over the next three months, the facility is expected to add a dialysis centre, Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), upgraded intensive care units, and expanded laboratory services.
