As part of the acquisition process, Amit Kumar, Co-founder and CTO at Saveo, will lead Pharmacy Technology at CureBay, supporting the company’s next phase of expansion.
Bhubaneswar-based Healthtech platform CureBay has acquired the pharmacy distribution business of Saveo Healthtech, aimed at expanding access to rural regions and strengthening its medicine supply chain.
The acquisition integrates Saveo’s established B2B technology-enabled pharma distribution network with CureBay’s existing healthcare ecosystem.
Saveo’s pharma platform currently serves over 10,000 retail pharmacies across southern India, including Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, with key operational hubs in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Additionally, the deal also brings Saveo’s procurement systems and digital ordering infrastructure alongside its operational hub, which is expected to enhance CureBay’s supply chain capabilities.
Reportedly, the acquisition is intended to improve inventory visibility, reduce supply gaps, and support more efficient fulfilment of medicines, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas.
Currently, CureBay operates a network of over 190 eClinics across more than 15,000 villages, providing services such as teleconsultation, diagnostics, pharmacy access, and referral care.
As per the startup, the addition of a pharma distribution network is expected to further support its broader model of integrating clinical services with medicine delivery.
Commenting on the acquisition, Priyadarshi Mohapatra, Founder and CEO, CureBay, said, “By acquiring Saveo’s pharmacy distribution business, we are strengthening our ability to ensure consistent and affordable access to medicines across the communities we serve. We see significant value in Saveo’s operating processes, procurement depth, and experienced team. This integration accelerates our pharmacy roadmap, enables us to scale faster, and improves customer satisfaction by reducing supply gaps and enhancing reliability.”
The acquisition also brings operational and technical expertise from Saveo into CureBay’s platform.
