Co-Diagnostics Launches Integrated Cloud & Mobile Infrastructure in India

Co-Diagnostics said it plans to replicate the architecture in additional markets, including Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

Co-Diagnostics, a Utah-based molecular diagnostics company, has launched its Integrated Cloud and Mobile Infrastructure in India, creating a connected digital layer for its point-of-care molecular diagnostics platform.

The infrastructure is initially supporting clinical studies for its Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) test and is intended to enable broader deployment across the country.

“Launching this infrastructure in India represents an important milestone in the evolution of our platform,” said Dwight Egan, Chief Executive Officer of Co-Diagnostics. “Early on in the platform's development, we realized that simply increasing access to testing wasn't enough, so we built an integrated ecosystem that combines our PCR technology, mobile application and a secure cloud infrastructure to support high-quality molecular diagnostics in decentralized settings.”

“The platform utilizes security controls designed to protect patient information while also utilizing aggregated, anonymized data to create a long-term strategic data asset. As we continue expanding internationally, this architecture provides a scalable foundation for clinical deployment, secure data management and future public health applications,” he added.

Under the Co-Diagnostics model, testing can be conducted using the PCR Pro instrument, with analysis performed directly through a mobile device.

The system is designed to function even when an internet connection is unavailable.

Once connectivity is restored, test data can be synchronized with the localized cloud environment, allowing decentralized sites to remain connected to the broader digital infrastructure.

Beyond supporting current clinical studies, Co-Diagnostics is positioning the Integrated Cloud and Mobile Infrastructure as a foundation for future data applications.

The company said aggregated and anonymized data generated through the platform could support public health surveillance and other analytical use cases.

Its Co-Dx Primer AI platform is expected over time to use these datasets to develop machine-learning models focused on disease monitoring and outbreak prediction.

The India deployment has received support, in part, from the Gates Foundation.

Co-Diagnostics said it plans to replicate the architecture in additional markets, including Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

Co-Diagnostics noted that its Co-Dx PCR platform, including PCR Home, PCR Pro, the mobile application, and associated tests, has not been cleared or authorized by the US FDA and remains subject to regulatory review and is not currently available for sale.
