Aster DM Healthcare Announces Key CIO Transition, Vineeth Purushottam Steps Down; Kumar KV Joins as Group CIO

Stepping into the role, Kumar KV brings more than two decades of experience across major healthcare and technology organizations, including Narayana Health, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services.

Aster DM Healthcare has named Kumar KV as its new Group Chief Information Officer (CIO), marking a key leadership transition in the company’s digital and technology function.

The development comes as Vineeth Purushottam, who served as Group CIO for over seven years, announced his decision to step down from the role.

Purushottam, in a LinkedIn post, wrote, “After seven incredibly meaningful years at Aster DM Healthcare, I have stepped down from the Group CIO role. This has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career — working across India and the GCC region, building a strong technology foundation by consolidating systems, removing silos, strengthening cybersecurity, accelerating cloud and digital adoption, and shaping a data-driven culture.”

Under his leadership, Aster strengthened its data, cybersecurity, and cloud strategy across multiple regions. He now continues with the organization as Vice President - Technology (Transition Office) to ensure a smooth handover.

“For the next few months, I will continue with Aster as Vice President - Technology (Transition Office) to ensure continuity, clarity, and context as we hand over the baton thoughtfully and professionally,” he said.

Stepping into the role, Kumar KV brings more than two decades of experience across major healthcare and technology organizations, including Narayana Health, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services.

He joins Aster DM Healthcare after an extensive tenure at Narayana Health, where he served as Group CIO for over ten years.

Reflecting on his journey, Kumar wrote on LinkedIn, “As I bid farewell to Narayana Health, I reflect on the incredible journey I've had with this remarkable organization. Starting as a consultant from PwC, I was drawn into Dr. Shetty's visionary mission. Transitioning from consulting, I joined Narayana Health to lead transformative initiatives over a decade of growth and learning.”

He further shared, “During my time here, I had the privilege of working alongside talented individuals in healthcare and technology. Together, we revolutionized how solutions are built, delivered, and adopted, navigating complex transitions and spearheading innovative tech solutions.”

With his appointment, Aster DM Healthcare enters a new phase in its digital journey, aiming to continue its focus on innovation, cybersecurity, and interoperability across its India and GCC operations.
