The facility is planned as a digitally enabled institution, incorporating AI-supported diagnostics, predictive analytics for clinical decision-making, integrated patient pathways, and smart ICU monitoring systems.

Artemis Medicare has entered into an agreement to operate and manage the 650+ bed Vimhans Hospital in Nehru Nagar, South Delhi, committing an investment of INR 500-520 Cr. The phased development will bring 450 beds by FY29 under the brand “VIMHANS ARTEMIS HOSPITAL.”

The project will be developed in two phases, with an initial capital outlay of around INR 350-360 Cr in Phase 1 and a further INR 150-160 Cr in Phase 2. Around 450 beds are expected to become operational by FY29, with total capacity exceeding 650 beds upon completion. The estimated investment per bed stands at INR 75-80 lakh.

Artemis Medicare will also extend an interest-free advance linked to construction milestones, recoverable over a mutually agreed period.

Designed as a tertiary and quaternary care centre, the hospital will offer advanced clinical programmes across neurosciences, cardiac sciences, oncology, organ transplantation, robotic surgery, and critical care.

The facility is planned as a digitally enabled institution, incorporating AI-supported diagnostics, predictive analytics for clinical decision-making, integrated patient pathways, and smart ICU monitoring systems to improve outcomes and operational efficiency.

Commenting on the strategic significance of the development, Mr Onkar Kanwar, Chairman, Artemis Medicare Services, said: "As a group, we are focused on scaling to 2,000+ beds over the coming years while maintaining strong clinical standards and governance.

Our growth strategy combines infrastructure expansion, advanced tertiary care programmes, and technology-led healthcare delivery. This partnership strengthens our NCR presence and reinforces our ambition to position Artemis among India's leading and most trusted healthcare brands."

Dr Devlina Chakravarty, Managing Director, Artemis Medicare Services, added: “The facility will house advanced Centres of Excellence across neurosciences, cardiac sciences, oncology, organ transplantation, critical care, and robotic surgery, supported by high-acuity infrastructure and specialised clinical talent. We are embedding AI-enabled diagnostics, predictive analytics for clinical decision support, digitally integrated patient pathways, and smart ICU monitoring systems to enhance clinical outcomes, improve turnaround times, and optimise resource utilisation.

Importantly, this is a first-of-its-kind initiative that seamlessly integrates mental health services within the OPD and IPD ecosystem of a tertiary care hospital, addressing the growing need for comprehensive and holistic care delivery."

The hospital is being built on a 3.5-acre land parcel in Nehru Nagar, Delhi, with the land and building owned by Dr Vidya Sagar Kaushalya Devi Memorial Health Centre. Under the agreement, Artemis Medicare holds long-term exclusive rights to provide medical services at the facility.

Moreover, the new hospital will be introducing structured integration of mental health services within both outpatient and inpatient frameworks, addressing the growing need for holistic and multidisciplinary care models in urban India.

In compliance with regulatory requirements, the hospital will also provide free treatment to eligible patients under the Economically Weaker Sections norms across outpatient and inpatient services.
