Ambuja Neotia Group Announces INR 1600-1800 Cr Investment to Set up New Hospitals
As part of its expansion strategy, the healthcare arm of the Kolkata-based group, Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture, will be set up three hospitals in West Bengal out of the five new healthcare facilities.
Kolkata-based conglomerate, Ambuja Neotia group, has announced plans to establish five new hospitals across India with INR 1600-1800 Cr investment aimed at scaling its healthcare vertical.
The upcoming hospitals are expected to strengthen the group’s healthcare footprint, particularly in eastern and northeastern India.
The new facilities will focus on multi-specialty care, with emphasis on advanced clinical services, modern medical infrastructure, and a patient-centric care model.
Commenting on the inauguration of its new Center for Paediatric Multispecialty in its New Town Hospital, Executive Director Parthiv Neotia, said, “We have opened this paediatric multispecialty centre as an expansion of the New Town Hospital, which was already there. We have made an extension and added 105 beds, making it a total of a 220-bed facility. The new wing encapsulates all paediatric multi-specialties like paediatric cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology and nephrology. The paediatric unit is the first for our group.”
As part of its expansion strategy, the healthcare arm of the Kolkata-based group, Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture, will set up three hospitals in West Bengal out of the five new healthcare facilities.
In parallel, the group plans to expand its footprint outside West Bengal and is exploring opportunities in Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Assam.
Reportedly, a new multispecialty hospital in Raipur is expected to become operational by the end of next year.
This expansion initiative follows the recent launch of a 125-bed women and children's care hospital in Guwahati, which became operational around four months ago.
According to the company, this facility is aimed at strengthening the group’s presence in Assam and aligns with its strategic focus on specialised care segments.
In a similar development, earlier this year, the company had announced an investment worth INR 2,000 Cr to expand its healthcare footprint across East India.
“Currently, we are looking at multispecialty and mother and child combinations. We will first focus on building the brand and service of women and children. Then we will be looking at another paediatric multispecialty unit. As we have already set up a paediatric centre in Bengal, we would look at another State in the eastern region to build the second such facility, depending on the needs,” Neotia added.
As per reports, the Healthcare Group plans to add another 1,500 beds in the upcoming five years.
Currently, it operates around four healthcare facilities across West Bengal and Assam with around 600 beds.
