AIIMS Raipur & IIT Indore Inaugurate AI Lab & Deployment Centre to Advance Digital Health Innovation

The AI Lab and Deployment Centre at AIIMS Raipur is expected to act as a collaborative hub for clinicians and engineers to jointly design, test, and deploy AI-based healthcare tools.

AIIMS Raipur has inaugurated an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab and Deployment Centre in collaboration with IIT Indore’s DRISHTI CPS Foundation to accelerate the development of AI-driven healthcare solutions.

The newly launched centre will function under SRIJAN, the bio-innovation wing of AIIMS Raipur, and will operate in collaboration with IIT Indore’s DRISHTI CPS Foundation.

The facility is designed to support the development and deployment of AI-driven technologies focused on medical diagnostics, healthcare management systems, and predictive analytics that can assist clinicians in decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd) emphasized that collaboration with DRISHTI CPS Foundation, IIT Indore, will help develop context-specific health technologies, strengthening healthcare services in tribal, rural, and underserved areas of Chhattisgarh.

Prof Suhas S Joshi, Director of IIT Indore, explained how partnerships between medical and technical institutes can improve healthcare accessibility and accelerate innovation by combining clinical expertise with engineering capabilities.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being explored globally for its ability to enhance medical diagnostics, enable predictive analytics, and optimize healthcare operations.

In India, where access to specialized medical services remains uneven across regions, AI-driven technologies are being viewed as a potential enabler for expanding healthcare reach and improving efficiency in both urban and remote settings.

The AI Lab and Deployment Centre at AIIMS Raipur is expected to act as a collaborative hub for clinicians and engineers to jointly design, test, and deploy AI-based healthcare tools.

By focusing on practical implementation and real-world clinical needs, the initiative aims to support the development of scalable digital health solutions that can strengthen healthcare delivery systems in the years ahead.

The facility was inaugurated at a recent conclave, which brought together clinicians, researchers, and technology experts to discuss emerging applications of AI in healthcare. The event was attended by senior faculty members, clinicians, and researchers from both institutions, alongside healthcare and technology professionals.
