The partnership will combine Agilent’s scientific expertise and data assets with OpenAI’s AI research and deployment capabilities and BCG’s experience in enterprise-scale transformation.
Agilent Technologies has announced a collaboration with OpenAI and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) aimed at accelerating the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) across its products, operations, and customer workflows.
The partnership will combine Agilent’s scientific expertise and data assets with OpenAI’s AI research and deployment capabilities and BCG’s experience in enterprise-scale transformation. The companies will work together to identify, develop, and scale applied AI solutions across Agilent’s business.
According to Agilent, AI has become a strategic priority as the company seeks to strengthen execution, enhance capabilities, and improve outcomes for customers. The initiative is expected to support the development of more intelligent instruments, software, and services while streamlining internal operations.
“AI is a top priority for Agilent as we strengthen our leadership, improve execution, and build differentiated capabilities for customers,” said Padraig McDonnell, President and CEO of Agilent.
He added that the company is accelerating AI deployment across its business while advancing intelligent technologies designed to deliver faster, high-quality insights and support customer decision-making.
The collaboration comes as Agilent expands its AI strategy across the enterprise. Over the past several months, the company has identified and prioritized multiple AI use cases and expects those efforts to grow substantially over the next six to 12 months.
Ashley Kramer, Vice President of Enterprise at OpenAI, said the collaboration is focused on bringing advanced AI capabilities into Agilent’s innovation and operational processes. According to Kramer, the initiative aims to help teams generate new insights, accelerate discovery, and develop more adaptive solutions while building long-term AI capabilities within the organization.
Matthew Kropp, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG and Chief AI Officer at BCG X, said the partnership is designed to help Agilent move beyond AI pilot programs and toward scaled deployment across the enterprise.
The companies said the collaboration will focus on translating AI opportunities into operational and business outcomes, with an emphasis on identifying high-impact use cases and expanding their implementation across Agilent’s global operations.
