Whoop Raises $575 Mn Series G, Abbott Joins as FDA Eases Regulatory Path
The company said the funding will support growth across the U.S. and international markets, including Europe, the GCC, Latin America, and Asia.
Whoop has raised $575 million in a Series G funding round, bringing its valuation to $10.1 billion, as the wearable health technology company accelerates expansion following a regulatory shift in the U.S.
The round was led by Collaborative Fund, with participation from Abbott, Mayo Clinic, and a group of global athletes and individual investors, including Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, and Rory McIlroy.
The company said the funding will support growth across the U.S. and international markets, including Europe, the GCC, Latin America, and Asia.
The raise follows a key regulatory development earlier this year. In July 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning letter to Whoop regarding its “Blood Pressure Insights” feature, stating it could be classified as a medical device requiring 510(k) clearance. However, in January 2026, the FDA reversed its position, allowing the feature to fall under general wellness exemptions, removing the need for stricter regulatory approval.
Whoop’s wearable platform operates on a subscription-based model and includes features such as electrocardiogram readings and atrial fibrillation detection. The regulatory clarification is expected to support faster product deployment and feature expansion.
The company has also initiated a significant hiring push, announcing plans last month to add more than 600 roles as part of its expansion strategy.
Founder and CEO Will Ahmed said the funding brings together institutional investors, healthcare organizations, and athletes aligned with the company’s focus on performance and health monitoring.
The latest funding positions Whoop to scale its wearable health platform in a competitive market that includes major technology and healthcare players, while expanding its presence in both consumer fitness and broader health tracking segments.
