Oura has launched its next-generation health-tracking wearable ring, Oura Ring 5, aimed at strengthening preventive healthcare.

As per the company, the latest launch seeks to expand its presence in predictive health monitoring and integrated care delivery, moving beyond wellness-tracking into longitudinal health data collection, AI-enabled insights, and clinical care pathways.

The wearable is also intended to support continuous monitoring and personalized health tracking through predictive features.

In addition, Oura unveiled Health Radar, designed to continuously monitor biometric signals and identify patterns of cardiovascular and respiratory health, particularly pertaining to blood pressure signals and nighttime breathing.

The feature is intended to track indicators associated with blood pressure signals and nighttime breathing patterns to provide users with insights into whether lifestyle adjustments, rest, or evaluation by a healthcare provider are needed.

Further, Oura also introduced additional features, including Blood Pressure Signals, which continuously detect shifts and patterns that may suggest cardiovascular strain over a period of 30 days, and Nighttime BP, which tracks patterns during sleep when blood pressure should naturally drop.

The Oura Ring 5 does not measure blood pressure directly, but tracks patterns that could suggest cardiovascular strain.

The new ring also gives wearers a 30-day view of their respiratory health by tracking breathing regularity and sleep-related disturbances.

The feature is supported through a diagnostic pathway powered by its partnership with digital health technology company ResMed.

As per the company, the ring enables users to access diagnostic assessment through ResMed and explore treatment options for sleep-related breathing issues directly through the Oura app if any respiratory risk is detected.

Oura also announced Health Records, a feature designed to combine clinical data with daily biometric information to provide users with a consolidated view of their health information for users with chronic conditions or seeking more proactive guidance.

The feature enables members to import their lab results directly into the Oura app through Lab Uploads, log dosing and schedules pertaining to GLP-1 intake, and obtain live activity tracking.

Further, the company stated the Ring 5 will provide users with an AI-enabled care layer within the Oura app for members to access licensed physicians through Counsel Health, a virtual healthcare practice focused on message-based care.

The feature will allow users to engage with AI-supported health guidance and licensed physicians in select U.S. states.

Reportedly, the feature will be available in 43 U.S. states and will also allow Members to connect to eligible providers and import their personal health records into the Oura app, as per its CMS Health Tech Ecosystem Pledge that focuses on interoperability and patient-controlled health data sharing.

Commenting on the new launch, Tom Hale, CEO at Oura. “Oura Ring 5 is a big step toward our vision of giving everybody a voice. By reimagining Oura Ring 5 to be smaller, easier to wear, and pairing it with our most advanced software yet, we’re making it possible for many more people to wear Oura every day, and to benefit from the personalized, predictive health insights that come with it.”
