US-Based Medtech Firm Zimmer Biomet Unveils GCC in Bengaluru
The center will develop the next-gen patient-monitoring software; streamlining procurement and supply chain for the APAC market; and accelerating the development of AI-driven surgical platforms.
US-based medtech company Zimmer Biomet has launched a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru aimed at strengthening its digital transformation and healthcare innovation capabilities.
This GCC is designed as a high-velocity hub for digital transformation that combines the company’s longstanding expertise in musculoskeletal health with India’s digital engineering ecosystem.
The center will focus on developing the next generation of patient-monitoring software; streamlining procurement and supply chain for the APAC market; and accelerating the development of AI-driven surgical platforms.
The facility is also expected to support capabilities across IT Security and Identity Governance Cloud and Enterprise Technology, Data Analytics and Reporting, and AI, Robotics, and Smart Implant Systems.
The GCC has been established in partnership with ANSR and will support the company’s global operations across technology, analytics, business processes, and digital transformation functions.
Further, it is intended to serve as a strategic hub for innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Commenting on the new initiative, Ajay Bagga, Managing Director and Country Head, Zimmer Biomet South Asia, said, "The GCC will act as a key enabler by powering sharper execution and more agile decision-making. It is a strategic step forward in aligning our capabilities with our growth ambitions."
Headquartered in Warsaw, Indiana, Zimmer Biomet operates in more than 25 countries and sells products in over 100.
The company recently reported robust 2025 net sales of $8.2 billion.
The latest move aligns with Zimmer Biomet's broader vision to expand its India footprint in clinical innovation, including the completion of a multi-centre study for mBôs, a first-of-its-kind autonomous robotic knee arthroplasty system.
