Univlabs Launches India’s First Portable Gynaecology Endoscopy System

The system integrates a 4K camera control unit, LED light source, display monitor, and recording system into a compact case that can be easily transported.

Gurugram-based startup, Univlabs Technologies, has announced the launch of GynoStart, described as “India’s First Portable Gynae Endoscopy System,”at a recent event. The launch marks a milestone for the Indian medtech startup as it seeks to make endoscopy more accessible across smaller clinics and hospitals.

The startup emphasized its vision of supporting Indian clinicians with innovative, cost-effective medical technology, noting in its official launch post, “With GynoStart, we aim to empower gynecologists across India by providing a portable, affordable, and high-quality endoscopy solution.”

Backed by Indian Manufacturing & R&D

Founded in 2015, Univlabs develops medical imaging and endoscopy solutions with a focus on domestic manufacturing.

The startup notes that it has secured multiple patents and has supplied its devices to thousands of medical institutions across India. Its product portfolio spans portable 4K endo-vision systems, LED light sources, insufflators, and monitors.

GynoStart has been designed as a portable, all-in-one diagnostic hysteroscopy unit.

According to Univlabs, the system integrates a 4K camera control unit, LED light source, display monitor, and recording system into a compact case that can be easily transported.

The startup positions the device as an affordable option for gynecologists to perform procedures such as evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility workup, intrauterine device localization, and guided endometrial biopsy.

New Hysteroscopy Pump Introduced

Alongside GynoStart, Univlabs also unveiled the HY-1000 Hystero Pump, a fluid management system intended to enhance the safety and efficiency of hysteroscopic procedures.

The startup’s product specifications describe the HY-1000 as featuring a 5.5-inch touchscreen display, an automatic self-test range of 100-400 mmHg, a flow rate from 0.01 to 1.0 L/min, and a pressure range from 50 to 400 mmHg.

The pump also uses a piezo pressure sensor to provide precise readings, a feature that the startup claims will improve procedural reliability for gynecologists.
