Hyderabad-based multispecialty and quaternary care hospital chain, Star Hospitals, has appointed Rajendra Kshirsagar as its Chief Information Officer. He shared the appointment announcement in a LinkedIn post.

Kshirsagar brings experience in hospital IT management, having held leadership positions at several healthcare institutions, including Rajagiri Hospital in Kochi, Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute in New Delhi, Holy Family Hospital in Mumbai, and Meitra Hospital in Kozhikode.

During his tenure at Meitra Hospital, he worked on a greenfield hospital project focused on creating a paperless environment. The hospital's systems included integration of its Hospital Information System (HIS) with the Draeger ICU management system, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), SAP materials management and human resources modules, patient queue management system and canteen billing system.

His previous experience also includes heading the IT departments at Hinduja Healthcare Surgical and Breach Candy Hospital Trust in Mumbai. At Breach Candy Hospital, he was involved in the implementation of a new HIS product version, including the transfer of data from the hospital's existing in-house system.

Star Hospitals, founded by Gopichand Mannam, operates key facilities in Banjara Hills and Nanakramguda and has built a strong presence in tertiary care. Founded in 2008, it began as a cardiac-focused institute before expanding into a broader healthcare network.

Months back, the hospital expanded its presence to West Bengal with the inauguration of its first Information Centre and Air Ambulance Services in Ballygunge, Kolkata, strengthening access to specialised healthcare services for patients in the region.

The initiative aimed at addressing the rising number of patients from Kolkata travelling to Hyderabad for advanced medical treatments. The new centre is designed to provide local consultation support, streamline treatment coordination, and enable continuity of care with STAR Hospitals’ specialist teams.
