The facility comprises multidisciplinary critical care units, high-end diagnostic services, and precision-guided robotic rehabilitation systems

Pune-based Sancheti Hospital, one of India’s leading orthopaedic care centers, unveiled a new Advanced OrthoCare Facility and an AI Innovation Lab.

The new facility comprises a 150-bed facility featuring advanced operating suites, multidisciplinary critical care units, high-end diagnostic services, and precision-guided robotic rehabilitation systems. With this addition, Sancheti’s total capacity now exceeds 300 beds.

In addition to this, the hospital has also introduced its Artificial Intelligence Department, the Sancheti AI Innovation Lab, and a platform called AIMD (Artificial Intelligence MD).

These initiatives are designed to support surgeons, physiotherapists, anaesthetists, medical students, and patients, which is expected to improve diagnostic services, rehabilitation planning, and clinical decision-making.

The institution has developed specialised services in joint replacement, spine care, trauma, sports medicine, neuro-rehabilitation, and other sub-specialties.

Further, AIMD is built on its existing OrthoAI framework and is expected to expand into additional specialties such as cardiology and neurology.

In addition, the AI platform will also provide tools designed to address patients’ routine health-related queries, supporting engagement beyond hospital visits.

Hospital officials emphasised that the adoption of AI tools will not replace medical professionals but will enhance their ability to deliver precise and efficient care.

During the launch event, Sancheti Hospital also introduced SANBO, the hospital also launched SANBO, an AI-inspired mascot developed to symbolise movement, innovation, and compassion, and to support patient engagement and community outreach.

Recently, Sancheti also introduced one of India’s most advanced robotic rehabilitation programmes, which has demonstrated improvements in mobility, pain reduction, and recovery from sports injuries and neuro-rehabilitation cases.

Commenting on the new facility, Dr Parag Sancheti, Chairperson and Managing Director of Sancheti Hospital, said, “The AI-driven diagnostics and rehabilitation centre will enhance our sports medicine ecosystem, scale academic training, and introduce Mobile OrthoCare Units to reach underserved communities.
