ResMed, a global leader in health technology focused on sleep and respiratory care, has introduced the AirSense 11 CPAP device in India.
Designed to assist individuals with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), the new device aims to improve therapy adherence through advanced digital features.
The AirSense 11 offers an intuitive tutorial via the myAir app, aiding users in setting up and adjusting to the device. The app delivers personalized feedback, and therapy tips, and tracks nightly data such as usage time, mask leaks, and sleep apnoea events. This integration aims to enhance patient engagement and adherence, with rates potentially reaching 87%.
The ResMed 2024 Global Sleep Survey highlighted that 46% of respondents had a history of OSA, with 33% either avoiding or independently managing treatment. OSA, a common sleep disorder, affects approximately 936 million people globally, leading to blocked airways and symptoms such as snoring.
To combat the increasing prevalence of sleep apnoea in India, AirSense 11 incorporates features such as the Personal Therapy Assistant and Care Check-In. These tools offer personalized guidance to users, helping them adapt to CPAP therapy. The device also supports remote software updates, ensuring users have the latest features.
Sharing thoughts, Sandeep Gulati, General Manager of ResMed India and South Asia, said, “AirSense 11’s new tailored features along with our myAir patient engagement app help give people the support they need to use CPAP – the gold standard for treating sleep apnoea – comfortably and confidently every night.”
