AI Doctors Should be part of Aadhaar, says Khosla at AI Summit
AI doctor systems could provide full primary care, disease management, mental health therapy, physical therapy, and health and nutrition coaching.
Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, has proposed integrating AI doctor systems into the Aadhaar ecosystem.
He said AI doctor systems are “entirely possible today” and could provide full primary care, disease management, mental health therapy, physical therapy, and health and nutrition coaching.
“I fundamentally believe services like AI-based doctors and AI-based personal tutors should be part of the Aadhaar system. There’s no reason we can’t offer these services to every Indian on the same identity-based system,” he said.
He further proposed creating a non-governmental organisation to design, build, operate and eventually transfer such systems into the Aadhaar ecosystem.
Khosla said such integration is “relatively simple to do,” and added that “there’s very little a human doctor can do that this AI can’t do today,” excluding tasks that require a doctor’s physical presence.
“None of this is available at this level, even in the US or most Western countries. Moreover, it is possible here at almost no cost,” he said.
