Piyush Goyal Highlights India’s MedTech Strength During Visit to AMTZ Visakhapatnam

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has underscored India’s growing MedTech capabilities during his visit to the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam, where he addressed managing directors, partner CEOs, and scientists.

Goyal said India is now positioned to scale innovation at a pace that can place AMTZ as a model hub for the global MedTech sector.

He stressed that India’s design capabilities, research and development strengths, and large-scale manufacturing capacity can drive the next phase of MedTech innovation and exports.

During the visit, Goyal also witnessed the exchange of a series of Memorandums of Understanding aimed at deepening collaboration between industry and academia.

The agreements cover areas such as industrial development, skill building, materials management, and healthcare technology, with a focus on supporting innovation financing and accelerating India’s MedTech ecosystem.

The minister said these collaborations will help India tap emerging opportunities and strengthen its position as a significant player in global medical technology manufacturing.
