Naveen Tahilyani Exits Tata Digital, to Lead Health Biz at Prudential

Prudential confirmed in a statement that he will join its business and group executive committee on 29 July, reporting to CEO Anil Wadhwani, and will be based in India.
Naveen Tahilyani has resigned as CEO and Managing Director of Tata Digital after just a year at the helm.
Tahilyani took over from Pratik Pal, who had led the company for over five years, in February 2024.
His exit marks the second CEO departure in just over a year, underscoring persistent execution and structural challenges.
Tahilyani is set to join UK-based asset management firm Prudential Plc as its regional CEO for India, Africa, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. He will also oversee the company’s health vertical.
As MD & CEO of Tata AIA Life Insurance, Naveen Tahilyani led the launch of Tata AIA Pro-Fit, a health-focused insurance product designed to address India’s rising burden of non-communicable diseases and out-of-pocket healthcare costs.
Under his leadership, the plan was a holistic solution combining life cover, medical benefits, wellness features, and financial tools like market-linked returns.
Prudential confirmed in a statement that he will join its business and group executive committee on 29 July, reporting to CEO Anil Wadhwani, and will be based in India.
Commenting on his appointment, Prudential CEO Anil Wadhwani said, “Continuing to build our Health pillar and driving growth across India, Africa, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar are strategic game-changers for Prudential. I am confident Naveen is the right leader in the right location to deliver the impact we need.”
His departure is crucial for Tata Digital, which is under pressure to deliver results with Tata Neu.
Before joining Tata Digital, Tahilyani served two terms as MD and CEO of Tata AIA, with a stint in between leading AIA’s Group Partnership Distribution business across Asia. Earlier, he spent 17 years with McKinsey, advising banks and insurers in the region.
