The Governor of Maharashtra, C P Radhakrishnan, has inaugurated a newly upgraded Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital in Wadala, Mumbai, now a unit under Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital.

Featuring the latest ophthalmic technologies, the center is built to enable high-precision diagnostics and surgical treatments.

Speaking at the launch event, the Maharashtra Governor stated, “This state-of-the-art facility exemplifies how cutting-edge medical innovation, when guided by a patient-first philosophy, can significantly raise the bar for healthcare delivery.”

The renovated center comprises a fully modernised modular operating theatre, a laser refractive surgery suite, a comprehensive optical and diagnostic retail unit, and an in-house pharmacy.

The hospital offers a spectrum of subspecialties, including cataract, retina, cornea, LASIK, glaucoma, paediatric and neuro-ophthalmology, uveitis, squint correction, and oculoplasty.

Dr Adil Agarwal, CEO of Dr Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospital, said, "This newly revamped hospital stands as a testament to our pursuit of clinical excellence, where advanced technology meets compassionate, patient-centric care delivered by a team of highly skilled and dedicated specialists."

In line with its technological advancement, the hospital has been equipped with systems such as the Alcon Constellation surgical unit and the 3D ARTEVO microscope for intricate cataract and retina surgeries.

LASIK procedures are conducted using the WAVE LIGHT EX500 platform, and other advanced treatments utilise ZEISS Green Laser and YAG Laser technologies.

Diagnostic services have been enhanced by the NIDEK Mirante, ZEISS OCT 5000, Pentacam, ZEISS IOL Master, and B-scan systems.

Prof Dr S Natarajan, Medical Director of Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, also noted, “This transformation marks a major milestone in our mission to offer world-class eye care. It strengthens our ability to reach more patients, train the next generation of ophthalmology leaders, and continue our legacy as a trusted name in eye health.”

Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital currently operates more than 230 hospitals across 10 countries, including 18 centres in Mumbai and 30 across Maharashtra.

The group treats over 2 million patients annually and performs more than 200,000 surgeries worldwide. It aims to further expand its footprint in Maharashtra and Mumbai to improve access to quality eye care services.
