KIMS Hospitals & Medulance Launch Thane’s First AI-Integrated 5G Smart Ambulance

The integrated AI continuously analyses patient vitals in transit, enabling emergency doctors to initiate care protocols before the patient arrives.

KIMS Hospitals, Thane, has introduced Thane region’s first artificial intelligence (AI)-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance in partnership with Medulance. 

The launch marks a significant step in emergency healthcare delivery, with real-time AI-based patient monitoring and high-speed 5G connectivity.

Unlike standard 5G ambulances, the newly launched system is equipped to transmit live data such as ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation directly to the Emergency Room. The integrated AI continuously analyses patient vitals in transit, enabling emergency doctors to initiate care protocols before the patient arrives.

During a live demonstration, the ambulance displayed how real-time telemetry, AI-driven analytics, and HD communication tools work over ultra-low-latency 5G networks. The setup allows hospital teams to communicate instantly with ambulance personnel, assess patient data live, and prepare the emergency bay in advance.

The smart ambulance aims to maximise the ‘Golden Hour Advantage’, which is critical in life-saving interventions during medical emergencies. This integration will enhance coordination between field responders and in-hospital emergency units.

With this rollout, KIMS Hospitals became the Thane region's first healthcare facility to implement a fully AI-integrated 5G smart ambulance. The partnership with Medulance combines clinical capabilities with advanced technological infrastructure, setting a new operational standard in emergency medical services across Maharashtra.
