India, Venezuela Step Up Cooperation in Health & Digital Technology

It was seen as a strategic opportunity for deeper collaboration, given India’s strong global presence in the pharmaceutical and digital technology sectors.

India and Venezuela have recently agreed to further enhance cooperation in health, digital technology, pharmaceuticals, trade, and emerging areas.

As per reports, both countries have reviewed progress across key sectors and identified new areas for cooperation in health, pharmaceuticals, digital technology, agriculture, development partnership, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said that both countries reiterated their intention to expand engagement in areas where India's capabilities can further support Venezuela's development priorities, particularly in pharmaceutical production, medical supplies, digital innovation, and technology transfer.

It was seen as a strategic opportunity for deeper collaboration, given India’s strong global presence in the pharmaceutical and digital technology sectors.

Moreover, Minister Goyal encouraged Venezuela to consider adopting the Indian Pharmacopoeia to streamline pharmaceutical trade and underlined prospects for cooperation in the automobile sector.

Both sides also exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments, agreeing to coordinate more closely in multilateral forums.

India and Venezuela, which marked 65 years of diplomatic relations in 2024, have long maintained warm and aligned relations, with resident embassies in each other’s capitals for over 40 years.
