The new ERP system, based on Oracle technology and enhanced with AI capabilities from Infosys, is expected to create a standardized view of purchasing and supply chain activities.

IHH Healthcare has entered into a seven-year deal with Infosys to modernize its enterprise systems through an AI-powered ERP platform that will support procurement consolidation, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across its international healthcare network.

As one of the world's largest private healthcare providers, IHH Healthcare operates nearly 190 healthcare facilities, including 89 hospitals, across 10 countries. The organization employs more than 75,000 people and owns major healthcare brands, including Fortis Healthcare in India.

According to senior executives, the growing scale of the organization highlighted the need for a unified technology platform capable of supporting enterprise-wide operations.

The new ERP system, based on Oracle technology and enhanced with artificial intelligence capabilities from Infosys, is expected to bring together data from across the group and create a standardized view of purchasing and supply chain activities.

IHH Healthcare has already demonstrated the benefits of coordinated purchasing. Executives said IHH generated approximately USD 150 Mn in savings by negotiating global contracts for capital equipment such as MRI machines, despite operating without fully unified data systems.

The new platform is expected to extend those efficiencies to a wider range of products and services used across hospitals.

"Imagine, if I am able to dig down into the granularity of gloves (and) surgical textiles – if I can know that an apple here is an apple there – imagine the amount of consolidation that I can drive," said Linus Tham, Chief Information Officer at IHH Healthcare. "So, that's one big use case that we can unlock by having a similar common data platform sitting on top of a common ERP solution."

Beyond procurement modernization, the initiative could pave the way for broader business process transformation.

Industry observers estimate the seven-year deal could be worth several hundred million dollars, although neither company has disclosed financial details.
