Curapod M brings together medical-grade photobiomodulation (PBM), adaptive personalisation, and a digital intelligence platform to support menstrual pain management

Hyderabad-based healthtech startup Litemed India has launched Curapod M, a wearable technology-led solution designed for non-invasive menstrual pain and cramps.

Developed and manufactured in India, Curapod M brings together medical-grade photobiomodulation (PBM), adaptive personalisation and a digital intelligence platform to support menstrual pain management.

At the centre of Curapod M is a clinically validated photobiomodulation platform intended to address biological processes associated with menstrual pain, including prostaglandin-linked pathways involved in cramping.

The system uses specific red and near-infrared wavelengths through photobiomodulation, supported by a proprietary adaptive engine that personalises therapy.

The companion app is designed to track cycle-related information and therapy responses, with the system using this data to anticipate potential pain intensity in subsequent cycles and adjust the therapy approach accordingly.

Together, the device and app are aimed at transforming the user experience from reacting to pain to anticipating and managing it more intelligently through personalised therapy and technology.

According to the startup, the clinical evaluation of the device demonstrated that 80% of women experienced zero pain after using Curapod M.

Curapod M is expected to roll out across India through various e-commerce websites.

The startup plans to make the product available across metropolitan and Tier 2 markets.

Further, the startup reported that the Curapod M is licensed by CDSCO and registered with the US FDA.

Commenting on the new launch, Surya Prakash, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Curapod said, “With Curapod M, the intent was to go beyond simply responding to the sensation of pain and build technology that works further upstream on the mechanisms associated with it. That is where photobiomodulation and adaptive personalisation come together.”

The latest launch follows Litemed’s INR 20 Cr (around USD 2.2 Mn) in a pre-Series A funding round led by V3 Ventures, 3i Partners, and Ideaspring Capital.

The startup plans to leverage the capital to support research and development, device and app enhancements, manufacturing scale-up, and broader go-to-market execution.
