Govt Committed to Boost India’s Digital Health Ecosystem as ABHA Accounts Cross 90 Cr: MoS Health

Implemented by the NHA under the MoHFW, ABDM aims to establish a secure, interoperable and citizen-centric digital health framework.

MoS Health Anupriya Patel has underscored the government's commitment to building a connected and citizen-centric digital health ecosystem powered by secure and interoperable health records.

She noted that more than 90 Cr unique ABHA IDs have been generated and over 100 Cr digital health records have been linked to these accounts, reflecting growing adoption of digital healthcare services.

According to official data, ABHA creation has grown consistently since the launch of ABDM. Cumulative registrations increased from 14.7 Cr in 2021 to 30.4 Cr in 2022, 50.6 Cr in 2023, 72.2 Cr in 2024 and 84.5 Cr in 2025 before surpassing 90 Cr in 2026.

"The creation of over 90 crore ABHAs reflects the growing participation of citizens, States, UTs and ecosystem partners in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. ABHA is an important step towards empowering citizens with secure, consent-based access to their own health information,” said Dr Sunil Kumar Barnwal, CEO, National Health Authority.

“As ABDM adoption deepens, ABHA will enable continuity of care, reduce dependence on physical records and support a more seamless, transparent and citizen-centric healthcare delivery system," he added.

Uttar Pradesh leads with more than 15.3 crore ABHA accounts, followed by Rajasthan and Maharashtra with over 7 crore each. Several regions, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, have achieved full ABHA saturation relative to their populations.

Implemented by the National Health Authority under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, ABDM aims to establish a secure, interoperable and citizen-centric digital health framework.
