DSS Imagetech & CarbGeM Sign Strategic MOU to Expand AI Life Science Solutions in India
The partnership is expected to focus on solutions that use imaging data generated by microscopes and digital diagnostic devices to support both clinical decision-making and biomedical research.
DSS Imagetech and CarbGeM have signed an MOU aimed at expanding the use of artificial intelligence in life science research and healthcare diagnostics across India.
The collaboration focuses on integrating AI-powered solutions with advanced medical imaging technologies to support hospitals, laboratories, and research institutions.
The agreement comes shortly after CarbGeM gained international recognition at the AI Impact Summit 2026 hosted by the Government of India, where it was named among the “Top 10” startups selected from more than 4,650 applicants across over 60 countries.
CarbGeM was also the only Japanese startup on the list, with its AI technology recognized for its potential to create meaningful social impact in healthcare diagnostics.
Under the new collaboration, CarbGeM plans to scale the real-world deployment of its AI technologies in India by leveraging the nationwide distribution, development, and service network of DSS Imagetech.
The partnership is expected to focus on solutions that use imaging data generated by microscopes and digital diagnostic devices to support both clinical decision-making and biomedical research.
Founded in 1998 and headquartered in New Delhi, DSS Imagetech has established itself as a major provider of medical and research imaging technologies in India. The company supplies advanced microscopy, digital pathology, laboratory automation, and molecular diagnostic solutions to hospitals, research institutes, IVF centres, and pharmaceutical organizations.
By combining DSS Imagetech’s established infrastructure with CarbGeM’s artificial intelligence capabilities, the companies aim to make advanced diagnostic support tools more accessible to healthcare and research institutions across the country.
CarbGeM focuses on developing AI-powered life science technologies designed to improve diagnostic accuracy, research efficiency, and quality control automation. The startup is also involved in the development of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions that can support medical professionals in clinical decision-making while addressing challenges such as shortages of skilled specialists and regional disparities in healthcare access.
Through this strategic partnership, DSS Imagetech and CarbGeM aim to accelerate the adoption of AI-driven solutions in India and contribute to global efforts addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
