Dr Lal PathLabs Acquires Shahbazkers Diagnostic Centre to Strengthen its Footprint in Western India

India’s leading diagnostic chain, Dr Lal PathLabs, has completed the acquisition of Mumbai-based Shahbazkers Diagnostic Centre as part of its ongoing expansion strategy in western India.

With this transaction, the company has increased its stake to full 100% ownership, making Shahbazkers Diagnostic Centre its wholly owned subsidiary.

The new move seeks to streamline operations and enhance market share in the diagnostic landscape of Mumbai.

The acquisition was finalised on 1st May 2026 in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Share Purchase Agreement.

Shahbazkers Diagnostic Centre has built its presence in Mumbai with a portfolio of pathology, diagnostics, and specialised tests catering to the diverse needs of patients and healthcare providers.

Its integration into Dr Lal PathLabs’s existing network is intended to support operational scale, standardization, and improved service delivery.

The latest development aligns with Dr Lal PathLabs’ vision to expand its service offerings and its footprint in the diagnostic sector.

In addition to domestic expansion, the company also plans to expand its international footprint with the incorporation of a wholly-owned subsidiary in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, named Dr. Lal PathLabs FZCO. This development is pending necessary regulatory and statutory approvals.

The proposed entity will focus on strategic investments in diagnostics and allied activities, including potential acquisitions, tie-ups, or joint ventures.
