The partnership aims to streamline the integration of Hinge Health’s digital care platform into Cigna Healthcare's self-insured clients' benefits offerings.
The move aims to enhance access to noninvasive care options, including exercise therapy, guided digital programs, and wearable pain relief technologies. The services are also compatible with Cigna’s existing Pathwell Bone & Joint Solution, enabling enrollees to receive on-demand MSK support.
Jim Pursley, President of Hinge Health, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, saying, “This collaboration with Cigna Healthcare underscores the pressing demand for MSK solutions that improve access to quality, affordable care. By working together, we can help more people overcome their pain, recover faster, and avoid unnecessary procedures, all while reducing overall healthcare costs for employers and health plans.”
Under this partnership, Cigna Healthcare’s self-insured clients will gain access to Hinge Health’s platform through expedited onboarding, simplified contracting, and streamlined billing. This setup is intended to remove administrative barriers, enabling faster implementation and utilization of digital MSK care.
Hinge Health offers a comprehensive program that includes a multidisciplinary team of board-certified health coaches, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and digital clinical tools. These services help patients manage chronic pain, avoid surgeries, and receive personalized exercise plans. A notable feature of the program is Enso, an FDA-cleared wearable device that provides electrical stimulation to alleviate pain symptoms.
Additionally, Hinge Health has developed a pelvic health program specifically designed for women, which expands the scope of musculoskeletal (MSK) care through collaborative efforts. While the primary focus is on technology-enabled pain management, the company emphasizes a patient-centric approach that addresses overall MSK wellness.
This partnership marks the latest in a series of strategic collaborations by Hinge Health. In 2024, the company partnered with Amazon Health Services, women's health virtual care provider Midi Health, and employee and government benefits organization Sun Life.
