Addressing shareholders, Chairman Gautam Adani said the upcoming healthcare campuses will house 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospitals, medical colleges, research facilities, and transitional care centers.
The Adani Group has announced a significant expansion of its healthcare initiatives, including the development of two integrated healthcare campuses in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, as part of a broader social infrastructure agenda unveiled during its 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Addressing shareholders, Chairman Gautam Adani said the upcoming healthcare campuses will house 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospitals, medical colleges, research facilities, and transitional care centers. The projects form part of the Group’s efforts to strengthen healthcare access and medical education infrastructure in India.
The announcement comes as the Adani Foundation enters its 30th year of operations. According to Adani, the Foundation currently reaches nearly 10 million people across 7,000 villages in 22 states through programs spanning healthcare, education, and community development.
Among the healthcare initiatives highlighted at the AGM was the expansion of a rural vision-care ecosystem in Bihar aimed at improving access to eye care services. The Group also pointed to its investments in healthcare education through institutions such as the Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences in Bhuj and Adani University of Higher Education and Research.
Focus on Healthcare Workforce and Medical Education
The planned healthcare campuses are expected to combine clinical care, medical training, and research under a single ecosystem. The Group said the facilities will support healthcare delivery while contributing to the development of medical professionals and clinical research capabilities.
Adani also emphasized worker welfare as a key organizational priority, noting that healthcare access and medical support for employees and contract workers will remain central to the Group’s workforce strategy. Nearly 85 percent of the organization’s combined workforce of around four lakh people is engaged in on-ground operations.
The chairman stated that the company is focusing on healthcare access, safe working conditions, hygienic living environments, and timely support services for workers across project locations.
Broader Social Infrastructure Push
In addition to healthcare, the Adani Foundation is expanding skill development programs and currently trains more than 1.25 lakh young people across rural India. The Group also highlighted its efforts to strengthen vocational education through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Gujarat’s Kutch region.
The healthcare announcements were made alongside updates on the Group’s broader investments, with Adani stating that the conglomerate invested over Rs 1.5 lakh crore across sectors during FY26, including social and physical infrastructure initiatives.
