Implemented by the National Health Authority, the milestone marks a significant expansion of India’s digital healthcare infrastructure and reflects increasing adoption of interoperable health record systems across public and private healthcare networks.

Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has crossed the milestone of linking more than 100 crore health records with Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Implemented by the National Health Authority, the milestone marks a significant expansion of India’s digital healthcare infrastructure and reflects increasing adoption of interoperable health record systems across public and private healthcare networks.

ABHA functions as a unique digital health ID that allows citizens to securely access and share medical records across hospitals, laboratories, clinics, and healthcare providers through a consent-based framework.

According to the government, ABDM doubled the number of linked health records from 50 crore in February 2025 to more than 100 crore within 15 months. The platform is currently adding nearly 10 crore linked records every two to three months.

The government said more than 450 public and private health technology solutions have integrated with the ABDM ecosystem to support seamless exchange of digital health records.

Among states, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of ABHA-linked health records at over 15.03 crore, followed by Andhra Pradesh with more than 11.95 crore linked records. Bihar, Rajasthan, and Gujarat also reported significant adoption levels.

Several government programmes and digital platforms contributed to the milestone, including the Non-Communicable Disease Programme, CoWIN, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), Uttar Pradesh’s eKavach platform, Andhra Pradesh’s health programmes, the Reproductive and Child Health programme, eHospital by National Informatics Centre, eSushrut by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Gujarat’s TeCHO platform, and Rajasthan’s iHMS platform.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, CEO of the National Health Authority, said the milestone reflects increasing adoption of digital health services across government programmes, states, health facilities, and private technology partners.

ABDM’s digital infrastructure includes key components such as ABHA, the Healthcare Professionals Registry, Health Facility Registry, Health Information Exchange and Consent Manager, Unified Health Interface, and National Health Claims Exchange.

The government said the initiative aims to support secure, paperless, and interoperable healthcare delivery while enabling longitudinal digital health records for citizens across the country.
