ABDM Expands Digital Health Footprint in Uttarakhand with Over 73 Lakh ABHA IDs Created
As part of this progress, 9,737 Health Professional Registry (HPR) entries and 7,804 Health Facility Registry (HFR) entries have been completed across the State.
Uttarakhand has recorded significant progress under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), with more than 73 lakh ABHA IDs and thousands of digital health professionals and facilities onboarded as the State pushes towards full ABDM coverage.
As part of this progress, 9,737 Health Professional Registry (HPR) entries and 7,804 Health Facility Registry (HFR) entries have been completed across the State.
ABDM is the flagship digital health programme of the Government of India, implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA), to create an integrated digital health infrastructure. At its core is the ABHA ID, a unique digital health identifier that enables individuals to securely store and share their health records across hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, and digital health platforms.
The HPR and HFR components ensure that doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centres are digitally verified and discoverable within the ABDM network.
ABDM Manager Pragya Paliwal explained that, in line with NHA guidelines and under the direction of State Mission Director Reena Joshi, Uttarakhand is working towards achieving 100 per cent ABDM coverage. This includes the complete creation of ABHA IDs for residents, along with universal registration of health professionals and health facilities under HPR and HFR.
To support this goal, awareness and enrolment activities are being conducted across the State. Information about the benefits of ABDM, ABHA, and associated digital services is being disseminated among healthcare workers, institutional staff, and the general public. Camps are being organised at hospitals, during local fairs, and alongside national health programmes to encourage on-the-spot ABHA creation and onboarding of facilities and professionals.
Paliwal also informed that the process of achieving full HPR and HFR coverage is currently underway, with continuous coordination between healthcare institutions and ABDM implementation teams.
The focus remains on ensuring that digital health systems are not limited to urban centres but are extended to peripheral and remote areas, improving access and continuity of care.
